Don’t be intimidated; choose a winning candidate — Kennedy Agyapong coordinator tells delegates

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should vote freely and prioritize electability as they head into the party’s Jan. 31 presidential primaries, according to Stanley Krugu Mort, Upper East Regional Coordinator for Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign.

Mr. Mort said the party’s 2024 election results serve as a warning and should guide delegates’ decisions.

“We all realize what happened in 2024. The results were terrible. We lost seats, and it was unprecedented,” he said in an interview with A1 Radio.

He cautioned delegates against feeling pressured to support any candidate based on personal loyalty or regional affiliation.

“Do not be intimidated. Fear nobody. Politics is not about brotherhood,” he said.

According to Mort, the NPP must select a candidate capable of uniting the party, energizing its base, and appealing to voters nationwide to avoid a prolonged stay in opposition.

“We should all rally around Kennedy Agyapong so we can wrestle power in 2028,” he said.
