A special aide to Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Clement Apaak, Samson Samari, says the deputy minister is one of the most empowered officials serving in a deputy role under the current administration.

The clarification follows a video circulating online featuring commentary by broadcaster Kelvin Taylor on the With All Due Respect programme, which made claims about the working relationship between Dr. Apaak and the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu.

According to the deputy minister’s office, Dr. Apaak has never, at any point — privately or publicly — expressed dissatisfaction or grievances regarding his role or the delegation of duties within the Ministry of Education. The office said narratives suggesting otherwise are inaccurate and misleading.

The statement further noted that the comments made in the circulating video do not represent the views or experiences of the deputy minister, adding that Dr. Apaak has fully dissociated himself from the claims.

It added that Dr. Apaak continues to play an active and meaningful role in the ministry’s work, describing him as one of the most involved deputy ministers in the current administration. His frequent representation of the ministry at key engagements, the office said, underscores the confidence reposed in him and contradicts claims of marginalization circulating on social media.

The office urged the public to treat the claims in the video with caution, describing the commentary as speculative and unsupported.

“The public is urged to disregard the misinformation contained in the video,” the statement said.

According to the office, the commentary does not reflect the professional environment within the Ministry of Education, which remains focused on advancing the country’s education agenda.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the deputy minister’s commitment to supporting the leadership of the education minister and working collaboratively to deliver on the ministry’s mandate.
