Moses Abaa Apiah, executive producer of A1 Radio’s flagship Day Break Upper East programme, has been selected for the Media Foundation for West Africa’s (MFWA) 8th cohort of the Next Generation Investigative Journalism (NGIJ) Fellowship.
The fellowship, which is now underway, brings together journalists to focus on in-depth anti-corruption investigations, data-driven reporting, and accountability journalism that addresses the everyday realities of Ghanaians. The programme also seeks to strengthen reporting that promotes transparency and holds power to account.
The NGIJ Fellowship is being implemented under MFWA’s project, Countering corruption through accountability journalism and improved freedom of expression environment in Ghana. The initiative forms part of the Participation, Accountability, Integrity for a Resilient Democracy (PAIReD) programme.
PAIReD is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-financed by the European Union in Ghana and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and implemented by GIZ Ghana in cooperation with Ghana’s Ministry of Finance.
