Dr. Mohammed Sumaila Asaah, a Senior Lecturer at University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), has urged parents to take a keen interest in their children’s education by visiting schools and libraries to monitor their academic progress.
Speaking at the commissioning of the ‘Tigsitaaba Never Stop Dreaming’ multi-purpose library in Yorogo, in the Bolgatanga Municipality, Dr. Asaah emphasized the importance of parental involvement in children’s learning.
“When your child goes to school, as a parent, try to visit and find out how they are learning,” he said.
He also encouraged the community to continue supporting the library, noting that its establishment marks only the beginning of greater educational development in the area.
“The little contribution the community has made so far is not the end. We need more books,” Dr. Asaah stated.
As a gesture of his commitment, Dr. Asaah pledged to donate books to the library—a promise he made at the project’s inception.
“I want to stand here and say that this is something I will continue to do, and I will fulfil that promise,” he assured.
