Sheaga A Real Town FC has secured a return to Division Two after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Bolga United FC in a decisive playoff match at the Zuarungu Senior High School field.
The high-stakes encounter lived up to expectations, with both sides battling intensely, but Sheaga A Real Town FC found the breakthrough to seal promotion.
Heading into the final matchday, Sheaga knew that only a win would guarantee qualification. A draw would have opened the door for Black Arrows, who were also in contention for the slot. Determined to control their destiny, Sheaga delivered when it mattered most, scoring the decisive goal to secure their return to the Second Division.
The victory has been widely attributed to both tactical discipline and strong leadership within the team.
Head coach BB Michael has been praised for his tactical approach throughout the campaign, particularly his ability to maintain defensive solidity while creating scoring opportunities in crucial moments. His strategy proved decisive against a resilient Bolga United side in what was effectively a winner-takes-all fixture.
Off the field, the club’s management, led by Ba-engmah John Adanyina, has been credited with providing stability and direction. His leadership ensured that players remained focused and motivated during the most critical stages of the season.
The result also fulfilled earlier confidence expressed by Adanyina, who had drawn parallels between this campaign and the club’s 2021 qualification run. At the time, he assured supporters that the team had the experience and mentality to succeed under pressure.
That belief was evident on the pitch, as Sheaga A Real Town FC demonstrated composure and resilience in a tense atmosphere to secure the win.
With promotion now confirmed, attention will turn to preparations for Division Two. The club is expected to build on its strong technical and administrative foundation as it looks to compete effectively at the next level.
For now, celebrations continue in Sheaga as the team marks a successful return to a division many believe they rightfully belong in.
