The Bolgatanga Central Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Isaac Ayemvoa, also known as Understanding, says the numbers recorded in the ongoing recruitment of new party members have exceeded the party’s expectations. The registration process for new members into the NDC began on 10th February 2026 and ended on 30th March 2026.
According to Mr. Ayemvoa, each branch was managed by two election committee members under the supervision of the branch secretary. To register, participants needed to present their Voter ID and answer a few follow-up questions. The process, according to him, was coordinated by teams at both the constituency and regional levels to ensure smooth operations.
Mr. Ayemvoa revealed in an interview with A1 Radio that the turnout far exceeded expectations, describing the response as “overwhelming.”
He noted that more people showed interest in joining the NDC, prompting the party to increase its targeted numbers. “We were surprised by the enthusiasm and participation we saw,” he added.
He further mentioned that the registration books were full due to the high turnout, and new books were brought in to continue registering interested persons.
“An exhibition of the register will also be held after the whole registration exercise to allow the newly registered members to verify their personal details.” He revealed.
