The Upper East Regional Secretary of the Sachet Water Producers Association, Moses Nsoh, has announced a price increase for sachet water, with a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) set to sell between GH¢7 and GH¢8 at the wholesale level, effective April 6, 2026.
Mr. Nsoh explained that the ex-factory price has been pegged at GH¢7 per bag, with the ex-truck price set at GH¢8. Retail prices may rise further, depending on transportation costs and location.
The price adjustment, he said, reflects rising production and distribution costs across the region.
Mr. Nsoh attributed the increase to global economic pressures, citing tensions involving the United States and Iran as contributing factors affecting supply chains and input costs. He noted that key production inputs, including rubber, spare parts, fuel, and electricity, have all seen price increases, placing a burden on producers.
He added that such international developments often have a ripple effect on local economies, driving up the cost of essential goods and services.
Mr. Nsoh further urged sachet water producers to remain calm and wait for clear implementation guidelines from leadership to ensure a smooth transition to the new pricing structure.
According to the association, the new price range of GH¢7 to GH¢8 per bag reflects the latest agreement by the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP).
Mr. Nsoh disclosed this in an interview on Bolga FM’s Tingmaalgo Sanga program on April 3, 2026.
