The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency and Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has donated assorted items worth hundreds of thousands of Ghana cedis to Muslim communities in the constituency.
The donation, which included bags of rice, cartons of tomatoes, and other essential food items, was presented to the communities during the Eid al-Adha festivities by the Bolgatanga East Constituency Chairman, Isaac Azure Ayelatoe; Constituency Organiser, Joseph Abugre Atanga; Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Ibrahim Bukari; and selected constituency executives.
According to the constituency executives, the gesture forms part of Dr. Ayine’s continued commitment to supporting Muslim communities and promoting unity, compassion, and social cohesion.
Speaking on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Mr. Ayelatoe urged residents to continue praying for peace, unity, and development in Ghana, particularly in the Bolgatanga East Constituency.
He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among residents and encouraged the Muslim faithful to continue demonstrating the values of sacrifice, love, and tolerance that underpin the Eid al-Adha celebration.
He added that the legislator also used the occasion to advise young people to uphold the teachings and values of Islam, stressing that discipline, honesty, and peaceful living are essential to societal progress and development.
According to him, young people have a critical role to play in maintaining peace and driving development within their communities.
Some members of the Muslim community expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the support, describing the gesture as timely and thoughtful.
Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.
