Pupils of Holy Family Educational Foundation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, embarked on an educational visit to Bolgatanga Senior High School (BIGBOSS) as part of efforts to expose learners to practical science, career opportunities, and life at the senior high school level.
The educational tour was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical scientific applications while inspiring pupils to pursue careers in science, biology, physics, visual arts, and other academic disciplines. The visit also provided an opportunity for the pupils to interact with teachers and students of BIGBOSS and gain first-hand experience of senior high school life.
Welcoming the visitors, the staff of BIGBOSS introduced the pupils to various practical lessons and demonstrations in the science laboratory. The learners observed experiments including the separation of salt from sand and the use of dry cells to generate electricity and produce light.
Addressing the pupils, the Director of Holy Family Educational Foundation, Hilary Abii Asiah, encouraged them to pay close attention to the lessons and make the most of the opportunity.
“This is a great opportunity for you. Listen carefully, learn as much as possible, remain disciplined, and conduct yourselves well throughout the tour,” he advised.
The Headmaster of BIGBOSS, Anthony Adimazoya, also inspired the students with a motivational address. He urged them to take their studies seriously and remain focused on their future aspirations.
“One day, you can become leaders, ministers, Members of Parliament, or even President of Ghana. Take your learning seriously, obey your parents, stay disciplined, and do not allow negative influences to derail your education,” he said.
Mr. Adimazoya recounted his own journey as an old student of BIGBOSS, noting that hard work, discipline, and determination had helped him rise to become Headmaster. He emphasized that every teacher’s greatest joy is to see their students grow into responsible and successful citizens.
The pupils shared their experiences following the tour. Clifford Anafo described the visit as an eye-opening experience.
“One thing I will never forget is the electrical system setup where we learned the difference between dry cells and batteries. I also learned many new things that were not covered in our previous lessons. The tour exposed us to the SHS environment and practical learning,” he said.
Maxima Manamya said she learned how mixtures such as salt, sand, and water can be separated in the science laboratory and also gained knowledge on building simple electrical circuits.
“I explored and learned new things that we did not know before. The tour broadened my understanding of science and practical learning,” she noted.
Lordina Ayindemnaba explained that she learned about the materials needed to produce light in an electrical circuit, including connecting wires, switches, resistors, and electric bulbs.
Clare Agolmah expressed appreciation to the headmaster and staff of BIGBOSS for warmly receiving them and sharing valuable knowledge with them.
“The experience we gained during this visit will be put to good use for our future benefit,” she said.
The educational tour ended successfully, with students expressing excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to experience practical science and gain a deeper understanding of life at the senior high school level. The visit is expected to motivate many of the learners to pursue academic excellence and future careers in science and related fields.
