President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to transform Paga Pio Senior High School in the Upper East Region into a boarding school, promising new classrooms, dormitories, a dining hall and a 60-seater bus.
The President made the announcement while commissioning the school as part of his Resetting Ghana Tour of the Upper East Region.
“We will build a new classroom block, dormitories and a dining hall for the school and make it a boarding school,” President Mahama said.
The proposed infrastructure is expected to expand the school’s capacity and provide accommodation for students when the institution begins operating as a boarding school.
President Mahama also promised the school a 60-seater bus to address its transportation needs, saying the vehicle would be delivered before the transition to boarding status.
“The 60-seater bus will come before the school becomes a boarding school,” he said.
The President said the additional facilities and transportation support would improve conditions for students and teachers and strengthen teaching and learning at the school.
The commissioning formed part of President Mahama’s engagements during his tour of the Upper East Region, where he is inspecting projects and announcing government interventions in various sectors.
