Residents of Akunka Akumpabisi in the Bongo District continue to live without electricity and a CHPS compound, while inadequate potable water and poor road access to the community’s primary school are also affecting daily life, according to the area’s Assembly Member.

Shaibu Apoore, Assembly Member for the Akunka Akumpabisi Electoral Area, has appealed to the Bongo District Assembly, Member of Parliament, Upper East Regional Minister and leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bongo to urgently intervene.

Mr. Apoore said the lack of basic social amenities is affecting healthcare, education, economic activities and the general well-being of residents.

He specifically called for electricity to be extended to the community and for a CHPS compound to be constructed to improve access to healthcare.

He also appealed for the road linking the community’s primary school to the main road to be improved and for additional potable water facilities to be provided.

According to Mr. Apoore, addressing the challenges would significantly improve living conditions and create better opportunities for education, healthcare and economic activities in the electoral area.

He said the community has remained loyal to the NDC and appealed to the party’s leadership and government authorities to consider Akunka Akumpabisi when allocating development projects.

“Your intervention will not only improve the living conditions of our people but will also strengthen the confidence and trust that the community has in the leadership of the NDC,” Mr. Apoore stated.

The Assembly Member urged the District Chief Executive, Member of Parliament, Regional Minister and NDC constituency leadership to treat the concerns as a matter of urgency.

He assured the authorities of the community’s continued support for the government’s development agenda and expressed hope that the appeal would receive a favourable response.
