The DCE has also appealed for a reliable water supply and fence wall for the Bongo District fire station as the Assembly seeks support from development partners to address infrastructure gaps affecting essential public services.
Speaking on Bolga FM’s Tinmaalgo Sanga on Friday, Madam Ayamga said inadequate accommodation for public sector workers remains a major challenge affecting education and healthcare delivery.
She appealed to development partners, nongovernmental organisations, the Ghana Education Service and Ghana Health Service to collaborate with the Bongo District Assembly to provide decent accommodation for teachers and health professionals.
According to the DCE, improving accommodation would make the district more attractive to qualified personnel and help retain workers already posted there.
She said providing a conducive living environment for teachers and health professionals could ultimately improve the quality and consistency of services available to residents.
Beyond accommodation, Madam Ayamga identified infrastructure at the Bongo District fire station as another area requiring attention.
She appealed specifically to the Coastal States Stability Mechanism (CSSM) to support the station with a reliable water supply and the construction of a fence wall.
The DCE said addressing those needs would improve working conditions for personnel and strengthen the district’s ability to respond to fire and other emergencies.
Her appeal comes after CSSM supported several security and development interventions in the district.
Madam Ayamga commended the initiative for providing 10 motorcycles to the Ghana Police Service in Bongo to improve the mobility of officers and enhance security operations.
CSSM has also supported the rehabilitation of the Bongo District Police Station, including improvements to offices and sanitation facilities, the construction of a perimeter fence and the provision of office furniture and equipment.
The initiative has additionally supported the extension of electricity to a model school in the district.
Madam Ayamga said the interventions demonstrated how collaboration between the Assembly and development partners could help address critical infrastructure and logistical challenges.
She called for continued partnerships to improve education, healthcare, security and emergency services across the district.
The DCE also raised concerns about security and called for stronger cooperation among the Assembly, Ghana Police Service, other security agencies and residents.
She urged residents to provide security agencies with timely information about suspicious activities, saying community cooperation was essential to preventing crime and maintaining peace.
Madam Ayamga said the Assembly would continue working with government institutions, development partners and other stakeholders to improve infrastructure and working conditions for public sector workers and strengthen the delivery of essential services across Bongo District.
