The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has turned to prayer and a renewed push for internal unity as it begins rebuilding its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The party climaxed a series of thanksgiving and prayer activities with a Christian service at the Church of Pentecost in Bolgatanga, bringing together regional executives, constituency youth organisers and youth groups from across the region.
Upper East Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP, Salahudeen Musah, said the activities were intended to bring members together to pray, strengthen relationships within the party and renew their commitment ahead of the next electoral cycle.
According to him, the series began with a prayer and worship session at the party’s regional headquarters, followed by Islamic prayers on Friday and the Christian thanksgiving service.
Mr. Musah said the decision to seek divine guidance was reached by consensus among party executives as the NPP works to rebuild and strengthen its structures in the region.
“We believe that when God is leading your steps, He will indeed take you to the promised land. That is why we are here to worship God,” he said.
He said the party believes that combining internal unity with stronger party structures would put it in a better position going into the 2028 elections.
Mr. Musah expressed confidence that the NPP could overcome its challenges and defeat the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next general election.
