The Upper East Regional Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salahu-Deen Musah, says the party’s newly elected regional executives have the professional and political experience needed to rebuild the NPP ahead of the 2028 elections.
Mr. Musah described the new leadership as a blend of professionals, academics, businesspeople and long-serving party activists who have risen through different levels of the party’s structure.
According to him, the new executives include professionals with qualifications ranging from master’s and law degrees to PhDs, alongside individuals with decades of experience in party organisation.
He cited the newly elected Regional Chairman as an example, saying he had risen from serving as a polling station executive to a constituency executive, Deputy Regional Secretary and Regional Secretary before being elected Regional Chairman.
Mr. Musah said similar experience could be found among other members of the regional executive team.
He pointed to the First Vice-Chairperson, who he said had previously served as Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser and Regional Women’s Organiser before being elected First Vice-Chairperson.
The Youth Organiser said his own involvement in the NPP also dates back to his student days, when he served in communication and leadership roles before progressing to regional and national positions within the party.
Mr. Musah argued that the combination of professional expertise and grassroots political experience gives the NPP a stronger organisational base as it prepares for the 2028 elections.
He expressed confidence that the new executives would draw on their experience to strengthen the party’s structures at the polling station, electoral area, constituency and regional levels.
