The Supreme Court has adjourned the civil case involving a cattle dealer, Sumaila Bilbil and former Bawku Central MP, Adamu Dramani Sakande indefinitely.

This is because of the impending retirement of the president of the panel of judges, Justice Darteh-Baah.

The panel would have to be re-constituted to continue hearing the case next legal year.

Justice Darteh-Baah made the announcement in court on Friday before adjourning the case sine die.

Yoni Kolendi, counsel for Adamu Dramani Sakande told the court it has been difficult reaching his client who is currently in the UK.

Sumaila Bilbil is seeking a declaration from the court that Adamu Dramani Sakande is not Ghanaian and cannot stand for elections in the Bawku Central Constituency.

A High Court presided over by Justice Charles Quist last year sentenced the former MP to two years imprisonment on three counts of deception of a public officer, perjury and false declaration of office.

He has since been granted a presidential pardon and released from prison.
