The Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) has scheduled its annual congress for Thursday, October 29, 2026, ahead of the commencement of the 2026/2027 Division Two League on November 13.
The congress, which will take place at the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs in Bolgatanga, is expected to bring together representatives of Division Two and Division Three clubs, juvenile clubs, Women’s Division One clubs and other football stakeholders across the region.
Participants are expected to be seated by 8:00 a.m., with proceedings scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
Discussions will focus on reviewing the previous football season, adopting competition regulations for the upcoming season, club licensing requirements and other matters concerning football development in the Upper East Region.
Meanwhile, the Association has confirmed that the 2026/2027 Division Two League will kick off on Friday, November 13, 2026, at various match venues across the region.
The number of participating clubs has increased from 24 to 25 this season, with teams competing across three zones for qualification to the Middle League.
Previously, the competition featured 24 clubs divided equally into three zones of eight teams each.
Under the competition format, the top two teams from each zone will qualify automatically for the Middle League, bringing together six clubs to compete for promotion.
The six qualifying teams will then participate in a round-robin competition, with the club finishing at the top of the Middle League standings earning promotion to the National Division One League for the following season.
The UERFA Competition Department has already released the zoning arrangements for the upcoming season to help clubs prepare for the competition.
Participating clubs are therefore expected to complete their registration processes and make the necessary preparations ahead of the league’s opening fixtures.
The annual congress is expected to provide an opportunity for clubs and other stakeholders to discuss the Association’s activities, address operational challenges and agree on measures to ensure the smooth organisation of football competitions in the region.
