The about 300 final year students of Navrongo Senior High School who were suspended this week will soon be recalled, TopNews Ghana can confirm.
The candidates were suspended following some agitations they sparked off after the school authority and the executives of the Students Representative Council tried to prevent them from wearing improper attire to the dining hall. The infuriated students pelted their leaders and teachers with stones and any objects on sight.
Ann-Estella Kye-eebo, the Navrongo Municipal Director of Education Friday morning hinted TopNews Ghana the candidates will soon be recalled to take part in the upcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
She explained that the action by the education and NAVASCO authorities was a temporal one to avert any possible destructive action by the candidates on the day of the riot.
“We are working on it. We sympathize with them. They are our children and we will soon make a formal announcement to ask them to come back to the school.” The director said.
Currently, native students are living at home while those from far away places are either back to their parents or also perching with friends in Navrongo, Bolgatanga and nearby towns and villages waiting for a formal determination of their fate by the education and school authorities
