Lawson Eyes Early Knock-Out

IBF Continental AfricaFredrick “Okunka” Lawson has vowed to knock-out his Georgian opponent George Ungiadze in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) International Welterweight Championship on Saturday, July 20, at the Lebanon House, Accra.

Lawson, current IBF Continental Africa Welterweight Champion,20 wins, 19KOs, without a loss, told GNA Sports he was in the shape of his life to win the title.

“This is an opportunity for me to take a step towards a world title and I am not prepared to let it go without making any meaningful impact.

“That is why I want an early knock-out to send a clear message to other boxers in my weight category.”

Though admitting to knowing very little about his opponent, he claimed his trainers have toughened him up for the night.

Also featuring on the bill are Manyo Plange and Joshua Barnor, for the National Super Bantamweight Championship, with Duke Micah and Gally Kudjoe fighting in an eight-round National Bantamweight contest.

Ofei Dodoo and Moses Dodzi would also fight in another eight-round Lightweight contest, whilst Prince Dzanie takes on Emmanuel Laryea, also in an eight-round Bantamweight contest.

Ahmed Sasraku and Abubakar Sadique would engage in an eight round Middleweight Contest to complete the six bout bill put together by Enus Promotions and Box Office Sports Promotions.
