Ghana Footaball Association’s Vice president, George Afriyie has asked that the FA is lauded for the sterling performance of the under-17 team in Gabon.

George Afriyie believes the Ghana Football Association has played a very important role in putting a team that has a 100% record at the ongoing Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations in Gabon and qualifying for the World Cup to be held in India  and deserves to be celebrated.

“I think that having kept faith Paa Kwesi Fabian it means that we(GFA) saw something good in his technical abilities and we believed in continuity in other to develop the team. Secondly the FA decided to keep these youngsters over one year which come with a huge cost.”

The Black Starlets face the Young Menas of Niger in the semi-final of the CAF U17 Nations at the Port Gentil Stadium.

The Nigerians finished runners in Group A after beating Tanzania 1-0 to qualify on goal difference and that earned them a place at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
