Deputy CEO of YEA has resigns his position as Regional Youth Organizer to tackle unemployment.

The Deputy Chief Executive for Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Ibrahim Bashiru has officially resigned from his post as the Upper East Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Last month the National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) directed all party officials serving in the Akufo-Addo led administration to resign from their party positions.

The council, which is the next highest decision making body of the party, said combining party work and government work was not the best, since it would put a lot of pressure on the affected officers.

In line with this directive, Ibrahim Bashiru has tendered in his resignation letter to the party’s executives in the Upper East region.

Speaking to a1radioonline.com after tendering in his letter, the Deputy YEA CEO mentioned that aside the resignation, he is also in the region to thank the youth for their gargantuan support during and after the 2017 general election.

“I am in the region for three things. One to thank the youth of Upper East region for the massive support they have given me so far during my tenure as the regional youth organizer, number two is to also outline my vision. As somebody coming from the region and occupying such a very sensitive position and then number three, to take advantage of the situation to touch base with the grassroots.”

He indicated that although the NPP is four months in government, some individuals been crying foul because to them they have been neglected by the party and therefore there was the need for him as a government official come in to explain to them how things are going.

“We have just won power for 4 months now and people are agitating and complaining that they have been neglected and I thought as a senior government official also from the region there was a need for me to be here touch base with the youth and share with them the vision of his excellency the President and what this government intends doing not only YEA, but the entire vision of the New Patriotic Party and Akufo-Addo government”

He used the opportunity to call on Ghanaian youth to be calm as government is working towards fulfilling its 2017 eighty thousand (80,000) YEA recruitment which was announced by the Excellency Vice President during their 100 days in office.
