Be serious with your BECE to enjoy “FREE SHS”- Rockson Bukari to candidates

The Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari has charged pupils of Basic Schools in the Upper East region, sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination, to approach the exams with the needed seriousness in order to enjoy the Free Senior High School policy to be rolled out by the Nana Akufo-Addo led government.

According to him, it is only when they are able to pass their exams and get placed into their schools of choice, that they can be able to enjoy the policy, which will be rolled out next Academic year.

The Regional Minister was speaking during a visit the Zuarungu Senior High School, one of the centers for the Basic Education Certificate Examination in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

He encouraged the pupils not to only make themselves and family proud, but also the people of Upper East region.
On her part, the Regional Director of Education, indicated that, it was important for the pupils to attach seriousness to the exams, because their academic lives’ journey begin with the Basic Education Cerficate Examination.

A total of 19,871 pupils are sitting for the Examination in the Upper East and out of this number, 9,821 are boys whiles 10,050 are females.
