Family of the late Major Maxwell Mahama is appealing to government to honour their son by naming the Tema Motorway roundabout after him.
Uncle of the fallen Soldier, Emmanuel Bamford who made this known said he had spoken extensively to the family about it and they are all in affirmative of the idea in honouring the soldier who died while on duty.
Major Mahama was honoured with a State Burial today at the forecourt of the State House in Accra. There will be a thanksgiving service at the Light House Chapel on Sunday in his memory.
Captain Mahama was killed by some youth of Denkyira-Obuasi after he was mistaken for an armed robber. His death has left the country in a state of shock.
Meanwhile, 42 suspects have been remanded in connection with his gruesome murder and the Police have promised to bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice.
