Former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings has questioned whether people stop thinking when they are above the retirement age.
This comes after the Legislator for Bolgatanga East and former Attorney General, Dominic Ayine challenged the nomination of Martin Amidu as Ghana’s first Independent Special Prosecutor.
The former President indicated that it is an insult for someone to challenge the nomination and subsequent appointment of Martin Amidu based on his age.
He said “have the judges stopped thinking? Judges can stay until they are 70. The President is above 70. I am 70. That is an insult. Maybe there is something wrong that needs to be changed as far as those figures are concerned,” the former President remarked”.
Jerry John Rawlings who approved of Martin Amidu’s appointment indicated that Amidu will restore the integrity of governance.
