A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from Bongo in the Upper east region, Frank Agongo, has raised concerns over recent internal wrangling in the party, adding that happenings in some polling stations in the Bongo Constituency have given sympathizers of the party cause to worry.

According to the outspoken party member, the self-destruct path the party is heading, is as a result of the “self-aggrandizement” some constituency executives are interested in to the neglect of the unity of the party.

Speaking to Samuel Mbura on Day Break Upper East on A1 radio, Mr. Agongo believes there is a grand scheme by some constituency party big wigs to skew the elections in favour of a particular group of people.

He disclosed that some genuine and “unalloyed” members of the NDC who have been seen not to be faithfuls of the executives are being sabotaged in their (party faithfuls) bid to put themselves up for elections, hence the file of petition that led to the placement of an interlocutory injunction on the constituency elections.

Meanwhile, member of the election committee, Maclean Ayamga, has expressed his discontent in party members for not consulting the executives at the preliminary stage of events, which could have allowed for the use of party structures to resolve issues amicably.

He indicated leadership of the party is working hard to ensure that the court injunction is taken off to allow for the elections to come off.
