
The Rural Enterprise Programme (REP) in collaboration with the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly on Wednesday launched the 2014 annual Rural Enterprise Programme Clients Exhibition and Trade Show here in Bolgatanga. The exhibition which brought together artisans and business enterprises across the country was chaired by Naba Johnson Awuni, Chief of Yorogo. Naba Awuni in his address expressed satisfaction that the exhibition would create a room and opportunity for the unemployed youth in the Region and beyond.
Upper East Regional Minister James Zuugah Tiigah, at the exhibition and show urge all and sundry to promote goods made in Ghana eat what is grown in Ghana. According to Mr. Tiigah that will be the only way the country can compete with countries like Japan and China.
National Director of the Rural Enterprise Programme, Kwesi Atta Antwi said the annual exhibition and trade show have become a regular future of the rural enterprises programme since 1995. Mr. Antwi said 110 districts across the country are participating in the exhibition and trade show.
Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Kweku Ricketts Hagan said the exhibition is vital for micro and small scale enterprise operators. The Deputy Trade and Industry minister during the opening ceremony of the three day exhibition show encouraged participants to make their best out of the Rural Enterprise Programme.
