The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu has called on the media to showcase the region to the world for investors to come in and invest.

“I want to appeal to the media to showcase our region and to tell the whole world and Ghana that Upper East is endowed with lots of natural resources. We have given vast land for this project and we have more lands across the districts. It is not only in Bolga here, most of the 15 districts and municipal assemblies are all endowed with natural resources. And I will entreat the media to tell the whole world and for that matter Ghana.”

The minister made this clarion call when he led Zoomlion Ghana to hand over an 80-acre land to a contractor to build an Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant in Sherigu in the Bolgatanga municipality.

According to the minister, the region is endowed with natural and human resources that investors will recoup whatever they invest in.

“The businessmen should come, we will welcome them, and it is a good place to invest. We have the human resource here, very well-educated people to work for these companies.”

Mr. Yakubu entreated the staff of Zoomlion Ghana Limited and the Contractor of the plant, Hydronomics Limited to ensure that trees are planted to replace those that would be fell during the construction work.
