Thomas Partey’s stunning strike in the first half proved decisive in Ghana’s spirited and hard-fought one zero victory over the warriors of Zimbabwe in their matchday four encounters of the Qatar 2022 World Cup in Harare.

The Black Stars, who began the game without skipper Andre Ayew, played with panache, determination, and hunger throughout.
The West African nation found the breakthrough in the the32nd minute through a sumptuous Thomas Partey’s free-kick
The strike, which was characterized by splendor ended up entering the top corner of the net; much to the surprise of goalkeeper Talbert Shumba.
The Zimbabweans, who lost the first leg in Cape Coast by 1-3, did not give in easily without a fight, as they created a few decent goalscoring opportunities, particularly in the second department of the contest. But Ghana’s formidable defense was able to keep Kharma Biliat and the likes at Bay.
After ninety minutes of exhilarating display of football, it was the Black Stars of Ghana who emerged victorious over the Zimbabwean Warriors.
Ghana has now made it two wins from two games under Milovan Rajevac’s second stint, scoring four goals and conceding just a goal in the process, to keep their qualification hopes alive.
The win has propelled Ghana to the summit of the Group G table, with 9 points and three goals, hoping that South Africa will drop points when they play Ethiopia at 4:00 PM.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are first from the bottom after failing to grab a win in all the four games they have played so far.
