The dreams of Samia Yaba Nkrumah to lead the Convention People’s Party ahead of the 2016 elections have been dashed after Ivor Greenstreet was elected the flagbearer of the party.
The party’s former chairperson was tipped as favourite by political watchers, but she faced a stiff competition from the former General Secretary Greenstreet.
Two other candidates Mr Bright Akwetey, a lawyer and Mr Joseph Agyepong, a party stalwart in the diaspora and a businessman were also beaten by Mr. Greenstreet
Over 2,500 delegates converged at the International Trade Fair Centre Saturday to cast their votes at the congress.
