The Bolgatanga Central Constituency Communications Officer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Job Aboyom, has denied reports that Member of Parliament Isaac Adongo cut sod for the construction of a new Sherigu Community Senior High School campus.

Aboyom said no groundbreaking ceremony has taken place for the project, contrary to claims circulating in the public domain.

Speaking on Tinmaalgo Sanga on Bolga FM, he explained that the MP’s visit to the proposed site on Aug. 20, 2025, was solely to assess the land made available for the project and not to officially commence construction.

“There has never been any sod-cutting at that location. So if anyone claims that a sod-cutting ceremony was held, I don’t think that is true,” he said.

According to Aboyom, the visit involved the MP and his team meeting with the chief of Sherigu to formally request land for the project. The chief, together with his opinion leaders, subsequently allocated a site for the proposed school.

“What happened was that we, together with the MP, met the chief of Sherigu, and the MP requested land to facilitate the construction of the senior high school. The chief and his elders then directed us to the site where the school is expected to be built, and we went there to inspect the land,” he explained.

He further noted that construction has not yet begun at the site, despite public expectations surrounding the project.
