The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Bolgatanga Central, Martin Ayamga, says the group known as “Friends of Prosper” is not recognized by the party in the constituency.
Speaking on the Zina Yela show on Bolga FM, Mr. Ayamga said he had not received any money from the group to pay nomination fees or dues for branch executives.
“As the constituency chairman, I do not know the group as an NDC group that works for the party, and I have never been informed about its operations,” he said. “I am the chairman, but I do not know Friends of Prosper and what they do, and no one has introduced them to me.”
His comments follow earlier confirmation that Member of Parliament Isaac Adongo had fully paid the nomination fees and four years’ dues for all 1,332 branch executives in the constituency.
Mr. Ayamga maintained that Mr. Adongo is the sole sponsor of the payments.
“The MP is the one who has paid for the nomination forms and dues for all branch executives. There is no other group involved,” he stated.
