The Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has assured farmers in the district that construction of a Farmer Service Centre will commence in the coming days as part of government efforts to improve agricultural productivity and support farmers.

Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony in Fumbisi for the construction of a 24-hour economy market, Dr. Apaak disclosed that preparations for the facility were far advanced.

“But President Mahama also promised that Builsa South will be a beneficiary of a Farmer Service Centre. And I can tell you that work is far advanced. The site has been selected, and it won’t be long. We will return here again to cut sod for the construction of the Farmer Service Centre,” he stated.

According to the legislator, the proposed centre forms part of broader government interventions aimed at addressing the needs of farmers and enhancing access to agricultural services in the district.

Dr. Apaak noted that despite the developmental challenges confronting Builsa South, the people remain united and determined to transform their living conditions.

“I do not take the opportunity the people of Builsa have blessed me with as their Member of Parliament for granted. Builsa South is one of the most deprived districts in the country. It is also a relatively young district, so we have a lot of challenges,” he said.

He, however, emphasised that the district’s quest for development continues to drive collective action among residents, irrespective of political differences.

The Deputy Education Minister further praised President John Dramani Mahama for introducing interventions such as the 24-hour economy policy, describing it as a major pillar for transforming the country’s economy and improving livelihoods.

He expressed optimism that the market project and the planned Farmer Service Centre would significantly boost economic activities and agricultural development in Builsa South.
