The Managing Director of Kacstone Records, Wenawome Aborah, has called on residents of the Upper East Region to put aside political and ethnic divisions and work together to advance the region’s development.

Speaking during an interview on A1 Radio, Mr. Aborah expressed concern about what he described as persistent divisions that continue to hinder progress in the region.

According to him, the development challenges facing the Upper East Region require collective action rather than partisan considerations.

“We know the right things that need to be done, but politics often prevents people from speaking out. We should not refuse to support good initiatives simply because of political affiliations,” he stated.

Mr. Aborah, who is also the Chairman of the Paga Youth Association, argued that excessive political loyalty and local rivalries have contributed to underdevelopment, making it difficult for the region to effectively advocate for critical infrastructure and investment.

He pointed to concerns over poor road networks and limited development in many communities, stressing that leaders and citizens alike must prioritize the welfare of the region above personal or political interests.

The youth leader also urged residents to stop discriminating against individuals based on their hometowns or political backgrounds when considering leadership appointments.

He maintained that competence and commitment to development should be the primary criteria for selecting people to serve in leadership positions.

Mr. Aborah further encouraged citizens to openly support initiatives that benefit communities, regardless of which political party is responsible for implementing them.

He concluded by appealing to affluent individuals and successful professionals from the region to contribute to community development projects.

“Whatever little we have, if we share it with our communities, it will help us go a long way. Development is a collective responsibility,” he said.
