The Managing Director of Kacstone Records, Wenawome Aborah, has constructed a volleyball court for students of Paga Senior High School (PAGA SHS) in the Kassena-Nankana West District, aiming to promote sports development and nurture young talents.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Aborah explained that the initiative was inspired by the need to provide opportunities for students with talent in less popular sporting disciplines.

“Many young people have talent, but the lack of facilities makes some sports unattractive. Football receives a lot of attention, but we believe it is time to focus on other disciplines such as volleyball, which can also create opportunities and jobs for our youth,” he said.

According to him, the Upper East Region and the country as a whole have not invested enough in sports such as volleyball, basketball and handball, despite the abundance of talent among young people.

He noted that the newly constructed court is only the beginning of broader plans to develop sports infrastructure for lesser-known disciplines in the area.

Mr. Aborah disclosed that a volleyball tournament involving about 10 senior high schools from the Kassena-Nankana Municipal and Kassena-Nankana West Districts has been organized to officially unveil the facility.

He said the tournament will not only promote sports but also provide an opportunity for students to interact, build networks and showcase their talents.

The initiative is expected to boost sporting activities at Paga SHS and encourage more students to participate in volleyball, while creating pathways for talent identification and development.
