The Medical Director of the Upper East Regional Hospital, Dr Joseph Kojo Tambil, has praised the hospital’s staff for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to shaping the institution’s future.
He gave the commendation after a meeting to review the hospital’s newly developed five-year strategic plan, describing it as a testament to the collective expertise, commitment, and vision of the hospital’s workforce to drive growth and institutional transformation.
He noted that the document reflected a shared aspiration to strengthen healthcare delivery and position the hospital for sustained growth.
“The quality of this strategic plan demonstrates what we can achieve when we work together with a common purpose.
“It is the result of the ideas, experiences, and dedication of our staff, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this important milestone,” Dr Tambil said.
The strategic plan was drafted by a five-member committee appointed by management and chaired by Dr Emmanuel Anafo.
The committee comprised Mr Elias Kparib Mort as Secretary, Madam Sonia Ansah, Mr Francis Wuni, and Madam Mercy Atigni Tengan as members.
Dr Tambil explained that the committee spent six months engaging staff across all departments through an extensive consultative process to ensure the plan genuinely reflected the priorities, aspirations, and insights of employees at every level of the hospital.
He emphasized that management deliberately adopted an inclusive planning approach because lasting institutional progress could only be achieved when staff actively participated in shaping the hospital’s future.
“This strategic plan belongs to every member of staff. Your voices have shaped it, your commitment will bring it to life, and together we will achieve the transformation we envision,” he stated.
The Medical Director noted that the Five-Year Strategic Plan focused on key priority areas including human resource development, infrastructure expansion, environmental management, quality improvement, healthcare access, financial management, governance, and stewardship.
These strategic priorities are expected to enhance patient care, strengthen institutional performance, and improve the overall quality of healthcare services.
Dr Tambil expressed confidence that, with the continued dedication and teamwork of staff, the successful implementation of the plan would position the Hospital to realize its long-term ambition of attaining tertiary healthcare status within the next five years.
He thanked all staff for their unwavering commitment and encouraged them to maintain the spirit of collaboration that made the development of the strategic plan possible, stressing that the hospital’s greatest strength lies in its people.
