The Marketing and Admissions Coordinator of Regentropfen University College and National Chairman of the Ghana National Catholic Youth Council, Matthew Adda, has encouraged young people to embrace hard work, integrity and purposeful leadership, saying success comes through dedication and a commitment to serving others.
Speaking on Bolga FM, Mr. Adda urged the youth to remain focused, disciplined and committed to whatever they do, stressing that genuine success is achieved through consistent effort rather than shortcuts.
According to him, young people should invest in developing their skills, pursuing education and working diligently in their chosen careers, knowing that excellence will eventually earn them recognition.
“Work hard, and your hard work will call your name when you are not there,” he said.
Mr. Adda explained that a person’s commitment, integrity and performance often speak louder than words, opening doors to greater responsibilities and opportunities.
He also urged young people to avoid laziness and remain patient throughout their journey, noting that success is built over time through perseverance, honesty and determination.
Sharing highlights of his leadership journey, Mr. Adda said leadership is not about holding a title but about making a meaningful impact through service. He said anyone who accepts a leadership position must be prepared to carry out their responsibilities diligently.
Reflecting on his childhood, he recalled that his passion for leadership began at an early age. While in Primary Six, he had the opportunity to travel by air from the Upper East Region to Accra to represent the region at the Presidential Student Encounter.
During the event, he asked the late President John Evans Atta Mills a question about the School Feeding Programme, an experience he described as a turning point that inspired him to believe young people can contribute to national development when given the opportunity.
Mr. Adda said his early exposure to leadership shaped his confidence and commitment to public service, eventually leading him to serve in several leadership positions, including his current roles as Marketing and Admissions Coordinator of Regentropfen University College under the leadership of its President, Rev. Fr. Dr. Moses Asaah Awinongya, and National Chairman of the Ghana National Catholic Youth Council.
He urged young leaders not to seek positions for prestige or recognition but to focus on delivering results and serving the people they represent.
“If you are ready to serve, then do it wholeheartedly. Don’t take up a leadership role without performing your duties,” he said.
Mr. Adda also encouraged young people to remain humble and willing to learn from those with more experience.
He urged young people to seize every opportunity to develop themselves, remain disciplined and lead by example, stressing that effective leadership begins with dedication, accountability and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
