New Patriotic Party (NPP) Upper East Regional Communications Director aspirant, Johnson Ayine Apasinaba, has promised to introduce a comprehensive communication strategy to unify the party’s messaging and strengthen its grassroots structures if elected on Saturday. Mr. Apasinaba made the pledge on Thursday, August 13, 2026, during a media engagement at the NPP Regional Office, where he outlined his vision for the position.

He said the election of a Regional Communications Director should go beyond choosing a spokesperson and instead focus on selecting someone capable of building an effective communication machinery for the party.

“The contest for the position of Upper East Regional Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not merely about electing a spokesperson. It is about choosing a leader capable of building an effective communication machinery that can inspire our members, defend the Party’s achievements, strengthen our grassroots structures, and ultimately contribute to the NPP’s return to electoral victory,” he said.

Mr. Apasinaba said his years of service to the NPP as a communicator, grassroots mobiliser, party activist and strategist had given him a deep understanding of the communication challenges facing the party.

He said his experience supporting constituency communication structures, mentoring young communicators and defending the party’s record in traditional and digital media had shaped his vision for the regional communication machinery.

According to him, the party’s future success would depend not only on its policies and governance but also on its ability to communicate effectively with the electorate.

“The future success of the party depends not only on good governance and sound policies but also on a communication system that is proactive, coordinated, research-driven, and connected to the grassroots,” he said.

Mr. Apasinaba said the NPP had implemented policies and interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, digitalisation, agriculture and social development, but argued that many of those achievements had not been effectively communicated to voters.

“I believe that one of the greatest challenges facing the party is not the absence of achievements but the inability to systematically project those achievements to the people,” he said.

He said his proposed communication strategy would provide direction, consistency and coordination for communication activities across the region. The strategy, he said, would bring together communicators, constituency executives, polling station officers, TESCON members and grassroots activists to ensure that the party spoke with one voice and advanced a coordinated message.

Mr. Apasinaba said the approach would also make communication a collective responsibility rather than leaving the task to a few individuals. He is seeking the support of NPP delegates in Saturday’s regional elections to lead the party’s communications in the Upper East Region.

He said his vision is to build a stronger communication network capable of uniting the party, strengthening its grassroots base and effectively projecting its achievements to the electorate.
