Casper Sunday Kampol, a former Deputy Upper East Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared his intention to contest the position of Regional Communications Officer of the party.
Mr Kampol said his decision follows extensive consultations and deliberations with party stakeholders within the Upper East Region and across the country.
He served as Deputy Regional Communications Officer from 2018 to 2022 and said his experience in that role had equipped him with the skills and understanding required to lead the party’s regional communications machinery.
According to him, the communications team he served with during that period helped the NDC secure 14 of the 15 parliamentary seats in the Upper East Region.
Mr Kampol said political communication has become increasingly centred on narratives, facts and strategic engagement, making it necessary for the party to have a structured and proactive communications strategy ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“I understand and know how to organize data, facts, engage the media, grassroots populations, translate complex government policies into simple, compelling narratives, and everyday narratives for the ordinary voter.”
He said his proposed leadership would focus on strengthening communication at the grassroots by equipping branch and constituency communicators, as well as media monitors, with timely information and messaging tools.
Mr Kampol also intends to deepen the party’s presence across traditional media platforms while developing strategies for the effective use of new media to communicate the government’s policies and programmes.
He said data-driven strategies would be deployed to communicate what he described as the achievements of the NDC government’s Reset Agenda and relate them to issues affecting residents of the Upper East Region.
According to him, effective political communication would be critical to the party’s efforts to retain all 15 parliamentary seats in the region and its presidential votes in the 2028 elections.
“The 2028 election requires perfection in telling the RESET AGENDA narrative in every aspect of our political communication.”
Mr Kampol said, if given the mandate, his administration would build what he described as a solid, strategic and coordinated political communication wing capable of responding proactively to political developments and communicating the party’s message at all levels.
He is therefore appealing to NDC delegates and members in the region to support his bid to become Regional Communications Officer.
He is campaigning under the theme: “Strategic Political Communication to Sustain Agenda 15/15.”
