The incumbent Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Martin Aka-eeri Ayamga, has pledged to unite party members and strengthen the party’s structures to secure victory in the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2028.
Mr. Ayamga made the commitment after being retained as constituency chairman in the party’s internal elections held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, polling 730 votes to defeat his challenger, Roger Ayine Aposs, who obtained 603 votes.
Addressing party members and supporters after his victory, Mr. Ayamga said the newly elected executives recognised the responsibility entrusted to them and would work towards a common goal.
“To all the Akatamansonias, you have selected us to hold the mandate to serve. I want to promise all of you standing here that we will unite for a common purpose, and we will work to strengthen and win power for the parliamentary and presidential slots in Bolgatanga Central,” he said.
He added that the newly elected executives were committed to working together to advance the party’s interests in the constituency.
Mr Ayamga also thanked God for the successful conduct of the election and expressed appreciation to the Electoral Commission, the security services, the media, the NDC’s Internal Elections Directorate, delegates and party supporters for their contributions to the process.
He commended them for helping ensure a peaceful election, despite the delay caused by an over-voting concern raised during the Youth Organizer contest.
His re-election gives him another mandate to lead the NDC in Bolgatanga Central as the party works to consolidate its grassroots structures and prepare for the 2028 general elections.
