The Director of Zongo Empowerment at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Alhaji Abass Ibrahim Chambas, has praised the Agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, for what he describes as transparent leadership, responsiveness to beneficiaries’ concerns and improvements in allowance payments.

According to him, the Agency has made significant progress in addressing the concerns of beneficiaries, particularly delays in the payment of allowances, under Mr Basintale’s leadership.

Speaking during the YEA CEO’s familiarisation tour of the Upper East Region, Mr Chambas said the visit provided an opportunity for beneficiaries to engage directly with the Agency’s leadership and seek clarification on its programmes and policies.

He commended Mr Basintale for taking time to listen to beneficiaries and explain the operations of the Agency’s various employment modules.

“Everything went on very well because our National CEO was able to listen to the beneficiaries and throw more light on the various modules of the Agency. He is a CEO who does not hide anything from staff and beneficiaries. He explains issues concerning the Agency to their better understanding,” he said.

Mr Chambas maintained that transparency and regular engagement with beneficiaries were essential to improving confidence in the Agency’s operations.

He also commended the management of the YEA for what he described as improvements in the payment of allowances, claiming that all beneficiaries had received their outstanding payments.

“Every beneficiary has received all their allowances, and we have paid everyone up to date. You can see the kind of proactive and transparent CEO we have today,” he stated.

Mr Chambas, who said he had been associated with the Agency for several years, argued that Mr Basintale’s leadership had brought positive changes to its operations.

He described the CEO as a leader who honoured commitments made to beneficiaries and remained accessible to staff and other stakeholders.

Expressing his admiration for Mr Basintale, Mr Chambas compared his performance to that of an outstanding footballer.

“Honestly, if you ask me in football terms, I will call him Agogo because he is the best CEO in Ghana. Trust me, any promise he makes to the beneficiaries, he always delivers,” he said.

Beyond his assessment of the YEA CEO’s performance, Mr Chambas, who is also an aspiring National Executive Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), appealed to party members to support his political ambitions.

He disclosed his intention to contest for a position on the party’s National Executive Committee when nominations open for the next internal elections.

Mr Chambas expressed confidence in his ability to contribute to the party’s development at the national level and urged NDC supporters to rally behind his candidature.

He maintained that his experience in public service and political organisation would be valuable in strengthening the party’s structures and advancing its interests.
