The Gospel industry produces talents that help to promote the Kingdom business and in promoting the Kingdom business, their influence is used to draw people closer to God.

This is what we can say about Florence Adooni; a gospel diva from the Upper East region of Ghana but born and bred in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

As young as age five, Florence Adooni discovered herself and her ability to sing to change stories of people and also draw them closer to God.

Unlike people who had the opportunity to record songs Florence was Florence used church performances as a means of working on her dream of becoming the biggest thing to happen in the gospel industry.

In 2011, through what she describes as the “infinite mercies of God” Florence released her first studio album which was titled “Ho saga la Paya which literally means (Your Season is coming). Although songs on the album did not travel across the borders of Northern Ghana, it received great reviews and transformed several lives in the Upper East, West and Northern Regions.

The grace of God smiled at Florence and through hardwork, she recorded her second studio album titled La gee Fii which means It won’t take time. This album exposed Florence to a host a performing opportunities in various churches and on several stages.

Florence is hoping to become a household name in the Gospel fraternity and to her; she believes blending the Akan language with the Frafra will offer her a wider audience and reach. She, however, believes that language should not be a barrier no matter what in music.

“I am currently trying to maximize my reach and it’s important that I blend the twi with the Frafra so I capture the hearts of both my people and the people of Southern Ghana. I know that language should not be a barrier in music but in order to broaden my reach, I have decided to blend the language.”

To Florence, the Gospel music industry is currently growing and it’s imperative that gospel music work at being innovative enough in order to maximize the potential that exists in the industry.
