Bolgatanga: Man fights for justice after been molested by Police

A gentleman, name withheld is fighting for justice after he was molested by the Ghana Police Service personnel in the Upper East regional capital, Bolgatanga.

Narrating his ordeal to a1radioonline.com, the man said “I was riding on top speed to the hospital because my wife who is pregnant was sick and I had to rush her to the hospital to save her life. The Police stopped me but I could not stop because there was a car infront of me and behind me so stopping would have been dangerous so I continued my journey”.

He said “the Police followed us with their patrolling car and pushed me and my wife into a gutter like we are criminals. The Police pounced on me and slapped me severally before asking me questions. I explained to him that I couldn’t have stopped because my wife’s condition but he did not listen to me as he continued to subject me to several slaps. He said he can kill me and nobody will do anything to him”.

He indicated that after he was subjected to beatings, he lost his three thousand Ghana cedis which he was going to use in paying for a land he has secured.

His pregnant wife on the other hand indicated that she was traumatized by the beatings her husband was subjected to adding that she was also pushed by the police and hit by the Police.

The couple is fighting for justice after they were subjected to several beatings by the Police.

Meanwhile, the Upper East regional Minister, Rockson Bukari has said that policemen and women who misconduct themselves will be dealt with and made to face the law.
