A 19 year-old Senior High School girl has met her untimely death after she attempted to abort a seven-months-old baby.
The lady who was a student of Obrakyire Senior High Technical School died at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital she had been sent for treatment after taking a medicine provided by her boyfriend.
The boyfriend was arrested by the police but was later granted bail as the police await a postmortem report.
Confirming the death of the young lady, Police Commander at Awutu Breku, ASP Johnson Hessey said “The father of the deceased who is an Assemblyman reported at the Police Station that the daughter who was seven months pregnant was sick and sent to the hospital and three days after she passed. He suspected the boyfriend to have given her some concoction to abort the pregnancy and so we picked him up”.
