The Management of Ghana’s Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has said it demands an apology for illegally advertising on its billboards that their artiste will be performing at the Northern Youth for Peace and Development awards.
Several billboards have been mounted in the Upper East regional capital, Bolgatanga advertising the programme which seeks to award hard working Ghanaians and other millennials.
On the billboard, several artistes have been billed to perform including Sherifa Gunu, Macassio and Shatta Wale.
But in a statement on his official Facebook page, Shatta Wale has denied reports that he will be performing at the event and has deemed it illegal for an event organizer to advertise him when his consent has not been sought.
He posted ” It has come to our notice that the Northern Youth for Peace & Development (NYUPED) is advertising Shatta Wale as a guest artist for the National Peace Durbar & Awards Ceremony 2017 to be held on Saturday 28th October 2017 at the Bolgatanga Jubilee Park. We wish to indicate that this is TOTALLY FALSE and such action of deception is unlawful and illegal. Management expects an immediate apology from the NYUPED or face the consequences of their action!”.
