The Minister for Special Development Initiatives, Hawa Koomson has said she is ready to resign following revelations that the budget for her Ministry in 2018 has been inflated.
The budget for the Ministry has been met with outrage from users of social media and mainstream media due to the outrageous estimates made for some projects including the building of a website.
The Minority in Parliament has mounted pressure on the Minister to resign her post, describing her as incompetent.
Minority spokesperson on Finance, Ato Forson taunted, the Minister has proven she has reading deficiencies.
Mr Forson who is also Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam MP said, her explanation is nothing but “damage control”. He said the Minister is struggling to do an “emergency landing” following the public backlash.
The Minority is emphatic, the Minister does not deserve to serve the people of Ghana.
“She should go immediately…she should resign…This is blatant corruption” the National Democratic Congress MP said.
But addressing the media some hours ago on the issue, the Minister indicated that “I am ready to resign”.
