The General Secretary of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia has indicated that Ghanaians have lost hope in the government of the New Patriotic Party led by Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the Ghanaian populace has come to the realization that the New Patriotic Party lied it way to power and Ghanaians have now realised that they made a mistake of voting out the NDC administration led by John Dramni Mahama.

He said ” What NPP government has done is making Ghanaians lose hope in them. So I am of the hope that even if elections are conducted today, NDC would win. I do know that some NPP members are unhappy with the current state of the country”.

Asiedu Mketia who was speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM indicated that “During the campaign, they made a lot of false promises, including promising heaven saying everything will be free. There are a lot of people in the NPP that would vote for NDC if elections were conducted today because they now know that NDC told them the truth. For the NPP government when prices of fuel go up, they say it has gone down. If you lie for power, this will be your end”.

He noted that the loss of hope in the NPP government is a clear indication that if elections are held in Ghana today, the NPP will be booted out of office by the National Democratic Congress.
