Founder and head pastor of the Fountain Gate Chapel, Rev. Eastwood Anaba says idolatry, alcoholism and high polygamy are main factors that contribute to the backwardness of the Upper East Region when it comes to development. Rev. Anaba was delivering the keynote address at the first edition of a forum for northern entrepreneurs dubbed: The Northern Brother Summit 2013 in Bolgatanga.

The Northern Brother Summit brought together young tertiary graduates and entrepreneurs of northern descent from across the country to share ideas on how the poverty gap between northern and southern Ghana can be bridged through the establishment of private businesses. Some of the entrepreneurs also took advantage of the summit to exhibit their products to chiefs, opinion leaders and policy makers who were part of the summit.

Delivering the keynote address at the Northern Brother Summit, founder and head pastor of the fountain gate chapel, Rev. Eastwood Anaba said idolatry, alcoholism and high polygamy are common practices in the upper east region that drain the people of resources that could be invested into good businesses.

 Roger Laari, one of the organizers of the Northern Brother Summit said the idea of organizing the summit was borne out of their conviction Northern Ghana has a lot Private Business potentials.

Deputy Upper East Regional minister, Daniel Syme said government is putting in place, a lot of interventions that young entrepreneurs in the upper east region can take advantage of.
