Sheila Adongo, an aspirant for the Bongo District Chief Executive (DCE) position on Monday called on assembly members to vote massively to endorse the president’s nominee Mr Alexis Ayamdor Azitariga, to push the development of the area forward.

Her support for the nominee comes as political think-tanks in the NDC in the region prepare to convene assembly meeting of the Bongo district on Tuesday to vote to confirm or reject the President’s nominee.  However, the A1 News has gathered that the endorsement of Mr Azitariga would be smooth and clean as majority of the people and the assembly members appreciate his contributions to the development of the area.

Mrs Adongo said the Bongo District lagged behind in terms of development and needed a development oriented person to help address the problems that confronted it, adding that at these crucial moments for the urge for development, it was unhealthy to engage in unnecessary competition.

She made this call in a statement copied to the A1 News in Bolgatanga to affirm her support for the nominee whom she asserted had what it took to bring the needed development to the area.

Mrs Adongo who hails from Kuyelingo in the Bongo central said even though she contested the nominee, he (nominee) had been her mentor and teacher whom she believed as a development worker and former Presiding member was capable of handling the district to open its wings to developments.

She thanked all those who played roles in her political ambition especially at the time she was canvassing for support to become the DCE and called on them to give the same support to endorse the nominee for the sake of bringing development to Bongo.

She however urged the nominee to focus on women and children issues by resourcing them to enhance their income earning opportunities through links to sources of micro credit and skill training.
