The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his commitment to the construction and completion of the Pwalugu multipurpose dam.
During a meeting with religious leaders in Bolgatanga, part of his campaign tour in the Upper East Region, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the critical importance of this project for the region’s agricultural and economic development.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his unwavering commitment to seeing the project through, stating, “I have no doubt that I am championing the Pwalugu multipurpose dam, and by the grace of God, we will do it.”
He further explained that technology-driven and smart agribusiness are some of the key policies he will tackle when given the mandate as the president of Ghana.
“My first priority, if you make me president, is going to be agriculture – large-scale commercial agriculture and mechanized agriculture with the application of technology. This initiative has been lacking. We have the lands, we have the water, so we need to move in this direction.”
He, therefore, assured the gathering of his commitment to sustainable development and a vision for technologically advanced agriculture in Ghana.
