Defence and Interior committee of Parliament summons IGP over insecurity in the country

The Parliamentary select committee on Defence and Interior has invited the Inspector General of Police,  David Asante-Appeatu over growing security threats in the country.

He is expected to brief the committee on the state of security in the country and what the Police administration is doing to keep Ghanaians safe. His invitation was confirmed by the Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Amankwah who spoke to Accra-based Okay FM on Tuesday, January 23.

His invitation comes after various the incidents crime in the country.

Just last Sunday, a group of armed robbers stormed the Dome-Kwabenya Police Station to free seven of their colleagues who were custody and in the process killed one Police officer.

In Asante Akyim Agogo, some Fulani herdsmen opened fire on some security personnel that have been brought to the area to maintain peace and order and in the process killing three.
