Deputy Health Minister, Tina Mensah has recommended for the closure of the Bolgatanga Nurses Training College.

According to her, the current state of the school is nothing to write home about and needs a thorough reconstruction to make it a standard institution to churn out nurses who are of high quality.

“Although the school has always been in the news, there is nothing to write home about it. The school does not even have a place of convenience and that is bad for a school that churns out Nurses. The dormitories are in bad shape and even classrooms are not in a good shape.”

She said she recommended that the students of the school be transferred to other schools in order to give room for work to be done at the school.

She mentioned that what the Bolgatanga NTC also needs is a visionary leader who will spearhead various developmental projects like other schools have been doing.
